Get to know country Lauren Alaina in the lead up to the Tracks96.1 Top 100 Country Countdown

Lauren Alaina debuted on the tenth season of American Idol back in 2011 and finished as a runner-up. Before auditioning on American Idol the singer was a student in Georgia performing in churches, restaurants, and winning talent competitions in multiple states. If you haven’t heard of Lauren, you may recognise her from well known duets with Chris Young, Dustin Lynch, Rascal Flatts and Kane Brown to name a few! Alaina has only released around 30 songs however she is a platinum selling country icon!

Lauren Alaina is known for her big personality, vulnerability in her lyrics and her amazing voice. Here are Tracks96.1’s top Lauren Alaina songs:

Road Less Travelled

This powerful anthem explores themes of staying true to yourself and is a great self-love country anthem. Lauren Alaina was dealing with her parents divorce, her father going to rehab and her own eating disorder. She created the song in hopes that it would uplift others and herself to “love yourself more”.

Doin’ Fine

Doin’ Fine is an amazing example of what modern country sounds like. With lyrics such as “Daddy got sober, Mama got his best friend, I've cut down crying to every other weekend” Lauren Alaina is brutally honest about her struggles in depth and was kind enough to ask for her parents permission before releasing the song. The song addresses her overcoming life's difficulties while also accepting them.

Getting Over Him

Lauren Alaina joins forces with Jon Pardi in a punchy, hot country hit called Getting Over Him which is also the same name as her recently released EP. This is the song that everyone needs to listen to after a breakup as it is an anthem of empowerment! Get familiar with this song because I think this will be a summer hit!

Loving what you heard? Tune in tomorrow on International Country Music Day (17th September) to listen and see if Lauren Alaina makes the Tracks96.1 Top 100!
